OIL - BURLAP - 38" X 36"

AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE
in 1983 Kootenay Boundry Regional Juried Exhibition.

Molly Bowback, noted painter, late of Frederickton, New Brunswick juried the show said:

"The cat is very witty and amusing and more of a sort of structural design thing with textures on the burlap, and the other one, VALLEY more loose and more, I think, painterly in a way with the brush stroke working. I just found them both so refreshing. amd I have no negative criticism at all."

Gestalt actually was a cat and from looking at the painting, of quite large stature and a definite presence wherever he chose to be.

This painting defines, like the bodacious cat, any room that it's in.
