GYPSY GINA, seen on the left, is an voice interactive construction that resembles a 'Carny' fortune telling booth schill. The Gypsys' bejewled turban topped face peers out beneath the overhead lit interior. Fortune telling cards and bones were arranged on the floor of the booth a little below her hanging face. Viewers speak into the microphone and ask the gypsy any of four questions which are answered with random and sometimes rude voice response. The Gypsy effect was empowered by an Apple PowerMac 6100/66 AV, a vintage macintosh computer with speech recognition and 'voice' capabilities. Known as a 'pizza box' design, the computer is very squat and fits into low profile spaces. This whole unit could as well be reset up and hung on the wall in a frame if not in the current cabinet setup. |
